Pass Plus

Pass Plus (apply for a 50% grant- South Lanarkshire residents only DOWN LOAD NOW)is a specific post test training assessment scheme designed by the DSA, with the help of the motor insurance companies and Road Safety experts.

You will be supplied with a workbook and guidance note on the following six subjects, which each require at least 1 hour of training –

URBAN DRIVING – watch the video or in BSL

TOWN DRIVING

ALL WEATHER DRIVING

NIGHT DRIVING 

DUAL CARRIAGEWAYS

MOTORWAYS

There is no test at the end of the course, however a person taking PASS PLUS must display a standard of achieved or competent as assessed by their instructor, to qualify for the official certification of completion.

A CERTIFICATION OF ACHIEVEMENT IS APPLIED FOR AND OFFICIALLY RECORDED BY THE DSA UPON SATISFACTORY COMPLETION.

With Pass Plus, you could reduce your car insurance premiums or get an extra no claims bonus with some insurance companies.

The course helps new drivers gain valuable additional experience, develop existing skills, learn new skills and techniques, improve anticipation and awareness, learn how to reduce the risk of accidents and maintain a courteous and considerate attitude on the road.

Do not under estimate the benefits which can be achieved to all New Drivers, as statistic say that they are a high risk for, collisions or near misses, of their first one thousand miles of driving.

Individually all instructors are required to be PASS PLUS registered, to complete this training.

Currently this scheme is being reviewed for development by the DSA with a view of compulsory post test training.

It is unlikely to keep it current name, however very likely to be compulsory.
